How to change FPS cap in Apex Legends
RequestingFinal路8 months agoChanging the FPS cap in Apex Legends isn't in the in-game settings, you gotta tweak a file. Go to your game folder, then find the 'cfg' folder. Look for a file named 'videoconfig.txt'. Open it with a notepad, and find the line that says '"setting.max_fps" "XXX"', where 'XXX' is your current FPS cap. Change 'XXX' to whatever cap you want, save, and boom! Higher or lower FPS, your choice.

No need to mess with game files. Just use the in-game command line. Launch Apex, open settings, and find the 'Game Properties' tab. There, in the 'Advanced Launch Options', you can add '+fps_max 200' (or any number you prefer) to set your FPS cap. Easy and no file editing needed!
Honestly, just play the game as it is. Messing with FPS might give you an edge, but it's not gonna turn you into a pro overnight. Enjoy the game, and stop sweating the small stuff.
If you wanna bump those numbers up for a smoother experience, modifying the 'videoconfig.txt' file is the way to go. Did that myself, and it's like playing a whole new game. Just be careful not to set it too high, or your rig might not keep up.
