How to Change Fusion Core in Fallout 4
To change a Fusion Core in Fallout 4, open your Power Armor suit by pressing and holding the 'E' key (on PC), 'A' on Xbox, or 'X' on PlayStation when standing behind it. Once inside the Power Armor, keep an eye on your Fusion Core's energy levels in the HUD. When it's running low, exit the Power Armor, open your Pip-Boy, navigate to the 'Inventory' -> 'Ammo' section, and select a Fusion Core to replace the depleted one. Just stand close to your Power Armor; it automatically swaps the cores!

Just pop out when your Fusion Core is about to bite the dust and slap a new one in from your inventory. Easy peasy, no tech degree required!
I honestly just hoard Fusion Cores and let them auto-switch. Never manually changed one in my 200+ hours of wandering the wasteland.
No need to fuss much, the game basically holds your hand through it. When in doubt, the inventory screen is your best friend.
