Just use a wired connection if possible. I've found that it often resolves NAT type issues without much hassle.
DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) setting on your router can make your console more accessible and usually solves NAT problems. But be careful, it might expose your console to the internet.
I fixed mine by enabling UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) on my router. It's easy and doesn't require much technical knowledge.
