If you can't remember your password and need to reset it, head to the Xbox sign-in page, click on 'Forgot my password', and follow the recovery steps.

Once when I forgot my Xbox Live password, all I did was go to the Microsoft account security settings, clicked on 'Change password', and followed the instructions.
