I had to change mine last week. I went into 'Settings' > 'Account' > 'Change Password,' and it was smooth sailing from there!
Hot take: Just use your browser to change it. The mobile app isn't really meant for that.
Log in to your Spotify account on a web browser, go to 'Account Overview,' and then click on 'Change Password.' Follow the prompts from there.
