Changing your PlayStation gamertag is easy! Just go to your PS4 or PS5 settings, select 'Account Management,' then 'Account Information,' and finally 'Profile.' Choose 'Online ID' and follow the prompts. Note that the first change is free, but subsequent changes may incur a fee.

Log into your PlayStation Network account on the web, go to your profile, and click 'Edit' next to your Online ID. Follow the instructions, and boom, new gamertag! Just remember, the first one's free!

FYI, changing your gamertag might cause some older games and services to act weird. Double-check Sony’s list of affected games before you pull the trigger.

I've changed mine before—it's straightforward! Just make sure you're ready for the inevitable “Well, actually...” from your old friends who can't handle change.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
