From my experience, changing positions is super simple. Just head over to the lineup screen, tap the player, and hit 'Change Position'. You'll be able to switch them to any available position on the field.
Changing positions is a waste of time; it's all about those home runs!
In the lineup, tap on the player icon, pick 'Change Position', and select the new spot. Boom, done!
