How to Change Primary User on PS4
You can change the primary user on your PS4 by going to Settings > Account Management > Activate as Your Primary PS4 and then deactivate the current primary account. Sign in with the new account and activate it as primary. Done!

I've done this before! Go into Settings, then Account Management, and select Activate as Your Primary PS4. Deactivate your current primary user, log in with the new account, and activate it. Easy peasy!
Honestly, I think it's easier just to reset the entire console to factory settings if you're switching primary users. It鈥檚 drastic but works flawlessly every time.
