Hit up the 'Settings' menu on your PS3, go to 'Accessory Settings,' and then to 'Reassign Controllers.' From there, you can remap the buttons to your liking!

You can customize the button layout via a lot of games' settings, too. Just pause the game and check the 'Controller' or 'Control Mapping' options.

Did this myself recently! Go into 'Settings,' 'Accessory Settings,' and select 'Controller Settings.' You can remap buttons there, and it's a game-changer.
