Hey, hold down the power button on your PS3 for about 10 seconds until you hear a second beep. This resets the video output to default, and should automatically switch to HDMI when connected to an HDTV.

Easy fix! Hold the power button on your PS3 until you hear a second beep. Should change to HDMI. You're welcome!

I've been there! Just keep the PS3 off, then press and hold the power button. You'll hear two beeps: one when you first press it, and a second beep after about 10 seconds. This resets the display settings to HDMI.
