Subtract mx from both sides to get y - mx = b. Rearrange it to form -mx + y = b or even better, multiply everything by -1 to make it look pretty like mx - y = -b.

For real, just rearrange y = mx + b into mx - y = -b. Algebra magic!

Easy peasy! Just move everything to one side so the equation looks like Ax + By = C. For example, y = mx + b becomes -mx + y = b, then you can multiply or divide to get rid of any fractions.

I鈥檝e done this so many times in my algebra class! Start with y = mx + b, subtract mx from both sides to get -mx + y = b, and then multiply or adjust the terms to match Ax + By = C.

Dude, y=mx+b turns to Ax+By=C by just isolating x and y terms and pushing the constants around.
