Honestly, I find it best to dock it first, then right-click on the desktop, select Display Settings, and adjust the resolution from there. Simple!

You don't need to overthink it. Just plug it in, go to the Display settings, and adjust the resolution. Done and dusted!

I usually just plug in the Steam Deck, then go into Gaming Mode. From there, you can change the resolution in Display settings.
