How to Change Where Steam Downloads Games
BruisingTopaz路7 months agoWhy bother changing? Just get a bigger main drive LOL. But if you must, Settings > Downloads > Steam Library Folders is your friend.

The easiest way is to go into Steam settings, hit 'Downloads', and then look for 'Steam Library Folders'. From there, you can add a new path where you want your new games to be stored. Been doing this for years to keep my SSD for my OS and bigger HDD for games.
Steam lets you store games in multiple locations. I have a small SSD for my OS and Steam itself, and a massive HDD for my game library. Adding a new library folder on a different drive lets me balance performance and storage. Easy peasy!
Changing where Steam downloads your games is pretty simple! Just open Steam, head to the 'Settings' menu, then click on 'Downloads'. You'll see a button called 'Steam Library Folders'. Click that, and then 'Add Library Folder' to pick a new place where you want your games to download. Just remember, the new location needs enough space for your future game downloads!
