To change your companions' clothes in Starfield, just open your inventory, select the companion tab, and equip the desired outfit. Easy peasy!

On your ship, bring up the character menu, select your companion, and swap their gear like you would your own. It's pretty straightforward!

You can't change your companion's clothes. Bethesda didn't include this feature.
