Go to Settings > Account > Change Number. Easy-peasy.
Simple! Go to WhatsApp, tap Settings > Account > Change Number, then follow the prompts. Just make sure your new number can receive SMS or calls for verification.
From personal experience, make sure your new number is active before starting the process. Open WhatsApp, go to Settings, tap Account, then Change Number. Enter your old and new numbers, verify, and you're done!
