While in-game, press the Esc key, click on 'Change Class', and then choose 'Change Team' from the menu. Easy peasy!

Join the Spectator team first, then select the team you want to switch to. It's the classic two-step dance!
If the server allows it, you can also use the console command `jointeam <teamname>` to switch teams quickly. Just make sure to enable the developer console in the game settings first.
You can't change teams mid-game. Just stick with your current team until the match ends, then switch in the next round.
