How to chat in MTG Arena
Chatting in MTG Arena is a bit different than your average game because it's primarily emote-based. You can communicate with your opponent using a selection of pre-defined emotes that can be accessed during your match. Just click on your avatar to see the emote options and pick the one that best fits what you wanna say. For direct messaging, you gotta add friends first. After that, you can start a conversation with them through the Direct Challenge screen. So, make some MTG friends to use the chat feature more expansively!

Emote system is what we've got, like it or not. Adds to the strategy if you think about it - a well-timed 'Oops' can really throw off your opponent.
