No airplane icon on Instagram web. You can only see DMs on the mobile app.
Open the Instagram app, look for the little paper plane icon in the upper right corner, and tap it. That's your DMs.
You can also do it straight from someone's profile by tapping 'Message'! One tap and you're ready to slide into those DMs!
