How to Check for Rare Pokemon Cards
First things first, turn that card around and check out the bottom right corner. You'll see a tiny symbol there – circle, diamond, or star. Circle or diamond means you've got yourself a common or uncommon card, but if there's a star, congratulations, you've hit the rare jackpot! Star with an 'H' or three stars? Even rarer! Next, take a dive into the card's number. If it's higher than the collection's number count, you've got a super rare card on your hands!

Simple rule of thumb: look for the holographic finish. If your card's got that shiny, reflective look, you're probably holding onto something special. Not all rares are holographic, but all holographics have a good chance of being rare!
Honestly, it's all about the hype. Some cards are considered 'rare' just because people decided they are. If it's a card everyone's talking about, chances are it's got some rarity to it.
