Easiest way? Just hit the 'Esc' key to pause the game and head over to the 'Settings' or 'Options' menu. Look for something like 'Game Version' or 'Version Info' in there. Should be right in front of you, can't miss it.
Honestly, just play the game. Who cares about the version unless you're modding?
