How to Check if My Pokemon Cards Are Real

First up, check the card texture and color. Real Pokemon cards have a distinct smooth feel and the colors are vibrant, not dull. The border should be a crisp, clean white without discoloration. Also, look at the card under a light; if it's real, you'll see a layer of black ink which is a security feature. Another pro tip is to look at the card text and font closely, as fake cards often have typos and the font might slightly differ from the official one. Lastly, the holographic pattern on real cards is pretty hard to replicate, so if it looks off, you might have a fake.

Honestly, if it feels too glossy or too flimsy, it's probably fake. I've had my share of fakes, and once you touch enough real ones, you just know.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
