The misspellings give it away every time. Check the text carefully for any typos or weird font. Real Pokemon cards don't have those mistakes.

First off, check the card texture! Real Pokemon cards have a distinct, smooth feel and a bit of a sheen. Fakes often feel flimsy or have an off print quality. Also, take a close look at the border colors and card back; they should be consistent with other Pokemon cards. If it looks faded or the colors are off, it might be fake. Lastly, the light test: Hold the card up to a light source. If it's real, the card will be semi-transparent, especially around the edges.

Honestly, if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. Always buy from reputable sources to avoid the hassle of fakes.

Just weigh them! Real cards have a specific weight to them due to the quality of paper used. Fakes are usually lighter or heavier. This isn't foolproof, but it's a quick check.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
