Always check the card's texture and color quality. Real Pokemon cards have a distinct smoothness and the colors are vibrant, not dull or washed out. Fake cards often feel flimsy and cheap. Also, look for the trademark symbols and check the font of the text for any irregularities. Legit cards always use consistent and precise fonts.

Just weigh it, lol. Fake cards are usually lighter or heavier than the real deal because they're made from cheaper materials. If it feels off, it probably is.

Don't forget the light test! Hold the card up to a light; real Pokemon cards have a bit of opacity, meaning you shouldn't be able to see through them easily. Fakes often miss this detail and are either too transparent or too opaque.

The easiest way to ensure authenticity? Buy directly from official retailers or the official Pokemon website. If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is a fake.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
