How to Check if Pokemon Cards are Real or Fake

To spot a fake, start by feeling the texture. Real Pokemon cards have a unique smooth feel, not too glossy or too matte. Check the card's border; genuine ones have clean, consistent borders. The color is another giveaway - fakes often have colors that are too dull or too bright. Pay attention to the card's font and alignment; any inconsistency here is a red flag. Lastly, the light test: Hold the card up to a light; if it's genuine, you should not be able to see through it.

Fake cards usually feel cheaper, so don't ignore that off vibe you get when you touch them. Also, misspellings are a dead giveaway. Even Pokemon names can get botched on fakes.

Real talk, just use the light test. If you can see light through it, it's a no-go.

I once bought a pack that turned out to be fake. The holo pattern was all wrong, looked like it was printed on rather than part of the card itself. Always check the holo!

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
