I usually just connect it to the PS4, and the charge indicator shows up automatically. Super simple!

You can also check it by going to the 'Settings' menu, then 'Devices', and finally 'Controllers'. The battery level should be displayed there.

Honestly, just press the PS button and a little icon at the bottom of your screen will show you the battery life.
