Honestly, just look for unique characteristics - if you have wings, you're Skypian; fins, you're Fishman, etc. Simple as that.
Simple! Just hit 'Menu', click on 'Stats', and you'll see your race right there.
Speaking from experience, your race will be visible by the visual traits your character has. Wings = Skypian, fins = Fishman, and so on.
Just check your avatar's appearance! Fishmen have fins, Skypians have wings, Mink have animal features, and Humans look, well, human.
