Checking your hemisphere in Animal Crossing is simple—just look at the seasons! If it's summer in-game but winter in real life (and you're in the Northern Hemisphere IRL), then your game is set to the Southern Hemisphere, and vice versa. Another telltale sign is the wildlife; certain fish and bugs only appear in specific hemispheres during particular months.

Easiest way? Look at your critters! If you're catching critters that online guides say shouldn't be there for the month IRL, you're likely in the opposite hemisphere. Northern has snow in December, Southern gets it in June.

You're overthinking it, just enjoy the game! Doesn't matter what hemisphere you're in as long as you're having fun. But if you must know, check the season. ;)

If you're an Animal Crossing player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Nintendo eShop gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
