Just listen to it! If it sounds like a mini jet engine, it's working hard. If it's silent, well, maybe it's on vacation.

To check your Steam Deck's fan, go into the system settings, and then find the hardware diagnostics section. It'll show you fan speed and other cool stats!

You can use the Performance Overlay on the Steam Deck by pressing the β€œ...” button, then navigating to the Performance tab. This gives you a real-time look at your fan's behavior.

Under the Steam button, go to Settings -> System -> Fan, and you'll be able to see the current fan speed and set preferences. Super easy!

Don't overthink it. If your Deck isn't overheating and everything runs smoothly, your fan is probably fine.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
