Start by selecting 'Smash' from the main menu. When the character select screen appears, just have the second player press the + button on their controller and pick their fighter!
Just click on 'Smash' mode and then both players press the + button on their controllers.
Easy peasy! Just go to the 'Smash' mode on the main menu, select 'Local' and then have both players press their controllers' + (Plus) button to join. Choose your characters and stages, and you're ready to brawl!
