You can't claim a Roblox group without the owner's permission. Ask them for a transfer.
First, the current owner has to make you the owner. They can do this by going to the group settings and transferring ownership. Once done, check the group to verify you're the new leader.
From experience: It's pretty simple! I got the owner to transfer the group to me via the group's settings. Just ask nicely and get their okay!
Owner has to transfer group to you. Can't be done without their approval.
