Classifying Pokemon cards is actually pretty straightforward! First up, look at the bottom corner of the card. You’ll usually find its rarity symbol there - circles for common, diamonds for uncommon, stars for rare, and for the ultra-rare ones, you might see a star H or three stars. Then, consider the card type: Pokemon, Trainer, or Energy. Each plays a different role in the game. The card's color and the icon in the top right can help with this too. Don’t forget to check if it's a Basic Pokemon, Stage 1 or Stage 2 evolution by reading just below the Pokemon's name!

Honestly, just check for the shiny parts. If it looks super fancy and has a holographic shine, congrats, it's probably rare! No need to overthink it.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
