Open up the PS3 if you feel confident with a little DIY. Use an air blower and a microfiber cloth to carefully clean the internals. Just make sure you're grounded to avoid static damage!
Compressed air is your best friend to blow out dust from the external vents. If you feel adventurous, you can disassemble the console for a deeper clean, but be careful!
Use a vacuum cleaner's brush attachment on low power to suck out the dust from the vents. Avoid letting the nozzle touch any components directly.
