I'm an Xbox veteran and here's my go-to method: Turn it off, remove batteries, and use compressed air to blow out dust from the buttons. Then, wipe it with an alcohol wipe. Just be careful not to soak it!

Honestly, just use a damp cloth and some elbow grease. Works every time.
First, turn off and disconnect your Xbox controller. Use a microfiber cloth slightly dampened with water to gently wipe down the exterior. For stubborn grime and the crevices, a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol works wonders!
I use a toothbrush and some isopropyl alcohol to scrub those hard-to-reach places, then finish with a microfiber cloth. Your controller will look brand new!
