I've cleaned mine by just using a vacuum with a brush attachment on the vents. Worked like a charm!

First, turn off and unplug your Xbox 360. Use a can of compressed air to blow out dust from the vents and fan. If you want to go deeper, open the casing carefully and wipe the fan blades with a soft cloth.

Honestly, I never had to clean my Xbox 360 fan. If your console is in a clean environment, you might not need to either.
