You can't actually 'clear' the whole activity log in one go, but you can delete individual activities. It's a pain, but it's the only way.
I've done this before and it's straightforward. On your profile, go to Activity Log, use the Filter options to pick your desired activity, and then delete them one by one. Yes, it might take a bit of time!
