How to configure a PS4 controller on Steam for Undertale
To use a PS4 controller for Undertale on Steam, just plug your controller into your PC. Open Steam, go to Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings, then check the box for 'PlayStation Configuration Support'. Your controller should now work with Undertale!

I connected my PS4 controller via Bluetooth, opened Steam, and it worked immediately with Undertale. No extra steps needed!
Once you connect your PS4 controller to your PC, open Steam and head to Big Picture mode. Find Undertale in your library, go to 'Manage Game' > 'Controller Configuration', and customize your settings from there. Easy peasy!
You don't even need to configure it if Steam is up-to-date. Just plug and play!
Honestly, keyboard controls for Undertale are better. But if you really need that controller feel, do it through Steam's Big Picture mode.
