Unfortunately, you can't connect a PS4 directly to a laptop using HDMI because both have HDMI output ports. You'll need a capture card to make it work. Capture cards convert the HDMI output from the PS4 into a USB input for your laptop. Check out brands like Elgato for reliable options!

It's a bummer, but HDMI ports on laptops are output-only, just like on the PS4. You need a capture card to bridge the connection.

HDMI from the PS4 won't work on a laptop directly due to both being output ports. A capture card is your best bet to solve this problem.

Tried this myself! You need a capture card like Elgato. Connect the PS4 to the capture card and then the capture card to your laptop via USB. Boom, PS4 on your laptop screen!

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
