You can't directly connect a Xbox 360 controller to an Xbox One. You'll need a special adapter like the Brook Super Converter.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the Xbox One isn't natively compatible with Xbox 360 controllers. Look into third-party adapters if you really need it.

From personal experience, the Xbox One won't recognize Xbox 360 controllers natively. I had to use a special adapter to make it work.
