Honestly, unless you want to use your phone as a remote or stream media, there's not much else to do. Just grab the Xbox app.
I tried connecting my Galaxy S21 to my Xbox 360 using the Xbox app. It worked great for streaming some music and using the phone as a makeshift remote. Pretty handy!
