Pro tip: Avoid Wi-Fi lag by using an Ethernet cable. Just attach it to the LAN port on your PS3 and the router. Done.
Ugh, don't bother with Wi-Fi! Just plug the Ethernet cable into the PS3 and your router. Instant stability.
Just did this last week, simply plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the LAN port on the back of your PS3 and the other end into your router or modem. Go to Settings > Network Settings > Internet Connection Settings on your PS3, and follow the on-screen instructions. You'll be online in no time!
