First-hand experience: Plug in the USB dongle that came with the guitar into your Xbox 360. Then, press the sync button on both the guitar and console. They should connect automatically.

Just turn on your Xbox 360 and the Guitar Hero Live guitar. Hold down the sync button on the guitar and the console until they pair. Make sure the USB dongle is plugged in!
