Go to Settings -> Network Settings -> Internet Connection Settings. Choose Wired if you're using Ethernet, Wireless if Wi-Fi. Follow the setup guide.

To connect your PS3 to the internet, go to Settings > Network Settings > Internet Connection Settings, then choose either Wired or Wireless connection and follow the prompts.
