How to Connect a PlayStation Controller to Your Steam Deck
DepetallingMummy·7 months agoTo connect your PlayStation controller to the Steam Deck, hold down the PlayStation button and the Share button simultaneously on your controller until the light bar begins to flash. This puts the controller in pairing mode. Then, on your Steam Deck, go to Settings > Bluetooth, and look for the controller in the list of available devices. Once you find it, just select it to pair, and you’re good to go! Super easy and now you've got the power of a PlayStation controller with your Steam Deck games.

Nah, Steam Deck was made for Steam Controllers. Why bother using anything else? You're just making things complicated for yourself.
Actually, I've connected my PS5 controller to my Steam Deck and it works flawlessly for most games. Some button mappings might feel a bit weird at first but you get used to it pretty quickly. Plus, playing Steam games with a PlayStation controller feels like a small act of rebellion, and I'm here for it.
Just plug it in with a USB-C cable. Sometimes old school is the best school.
