Honestly, the best way to connect your PS3 to a desktop is just to use remote play. It's easy and doesn't require any extra hardware.

Win official PlayStation gift cards by playing games on Playbite!

You can connect your PS3 to your desktop by using an HDMI capture card. Plug the PS3's HDMI output into the capture card and then connect the capture card to your desktop via USB. You'll need software like OBS or XSplit to view and record the PS3's output on your desktop. It's a bit of a technical setup but totally worth it for recording gameplay or streaming!

I've connected my PS3 to my desktop before. What worked for me was using an HDMI capture card. Sure, it requires an extra purchase, but it lets you use your desktop as a display and recording device.

You can also use a VGA cable along with an HDMI to VGA adapter to connect your PS3 to your desktop monitor if it has a VGA input. Make sure to plug in the audio separately using an RCA to 3.5mm cable.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
