Just plug the PS4 controller into the PS3 with a USB cable to start. It should recognize it right away, but you’ll have limited features like no Sixaxis motion support.

Why would you want to do that? Just use a PS3 controller on your PS3.

Been there, done that! I simply plugged in the USB cable, and the PS4 controller worked like a charm on my PS3. Just note that some features won't be available.
