Just use the on-screen keyboard. Select the text with the left stick, hit the 'Menu' button for copy/cut, and then paste it where you need. Done deal!

I've done this a ton. You gotta highlight what you want to copy, press the 'Menu' button, pick 'Copy' or 'Cut,' then go to where you want it pasted. Hit the 'Menu' button again and choose 'Paste.' Works every time!
