I've done this a billion times! Use the clone tool while in build mode, select the painted object you want to copy from, and then place the new item. Simple as that!
Yup, just hit the clone tool in build mode. Select the painted item, and it copies the color and texture.
Why copy paint when you can create something new every time? Just a thought!
