Just grab an extra controller and call your buddy in-game. Simple as that. No need to make it complicated!

Ah, the quest for shared island life bliss! Couch co-op in Animal Crossing, specifically New Horizons, is pretty simple. You just need two or more Joy-Cons so each player has a controller. Then, on the main player's screen, you'll want to open the NookPhone, select the 'Call Resident' app, and choose the players who'll be joining. Once everyone's in, you can explore, fish, and catch bugs together! The game does a great job of making sure everyone can have fun, just remember the main player controls the session.

Honestly, while couch co-op is doable, it's kinda clunky. One player is the leader, and the camera follows them, leaving the second player to teleport if they stray too far. It's fun but has its limits.

If you're an Animal Crossing player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Nintendo eShop gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
