How to Craft a Backpack in Fallout 76
First off, you gotta get the Pioneer Scout achievement. This means completing the 'Order of the Tadpole' quest, which gets you the standard backpack plan. Once you've got that, head to an Armor Workbench. You'll need some materials like leather and cloth, but crafting it is pretty straightforward after that. Keep in mind, there are cooler, moddable versions you can unlock later on!

Simple answer: finish the 'Order of the Tadpole' quest. It's a bit of a grind, but totally worth it for that sweet, sweet carrying capacity.
Actually, you don't NEED the backpack unless you're really into hoarding. Just manage your inventory better, and you'll be fine. But, if you must, 'Order of the Tadpole' is your gateway.
