You can crossplay ARK on PC and Xbox by running the game through the Microsoft Store or Xbox Game Pass, not Steam.

Make sure you're not on the Steam version. Microsoft Store only for crossplay with Xbox!

To crossplay ARK on PC and Xbox, make sure you're using the Microsoft Store or Xbox Game Pass versions of the game on your PC. Steam versions won't work for crossplay.

Personal experience here: I had to re-download Ark from the Microsoft Store on my PC to get it to work with my Xbox buddies. After that, smooth sailing!
